NORTHEAST FLORIDA PARALEGAL ASSOCIATION INC.

About Us

Northeast Florida Paralegal Association, Inc. (NEFPA), was formed in 1984 (and originally known as Jacksonville Legal Assistants, Inc.) to meet a growing need for a local professional association for paralegals/legal assistants in the greater Jacksonville area. In July 1986, the Association became an affiliate of the National Association of Legal Assistants, Inc. (NALA). Then, in July 1988, the Association was incorporated as a Florida not-for-profit corporation.

NEFPA is an active and vital participant in the northeast Florida legal community, supporting the Jacksonville Bar Association in many activities, including "Holiday in January" to give a holiday experience to kids brought into the Department of Children and Families system during the holidays.

NEFPA promotes the highest levels of professionalism through its monthly meetings (formal and informal) at which speakers on topics of legal interest are featured guests, through NEFPA officers speaking at area paralegal educational classes, and through its promotion of the NALA certification programs (CLA/CP) and Advanced Paralegal Certification (formerly CLA Specialty).
